All games appearing on this website are to be played at your-own-risk. It is highly recommended that an adult or coach evaluate the appropriateness of the games and activities according to the needs and personality of your group. Safety precautions should always be taken before you play any game. GrassRoots Swimming and Swim Ontario are not responsible, nor has it any control over, the use or misuse of any of the games and activities suggested on these pages. If you feel any game or activity is unsafe or inappropriate, please let us know so we may address your concerns as quickly as possible.

Here are the benefits we see in playing games.

FUN. Every workout should have a game. Even though they are fun, swimmers tend to work harder when there is a game to be played.

Team Work. Most games involve groups working together towards a common goal. What could be better?

Leadership. Team captains should be rotated. Some swimmers will love the role while other will do everything possible to avoid the limelight. Give everyone a chance to lead and learn from the experience.

Here are some games you might like to try. They aren’t new and we encourage you to vary and improve them. If you have a game that should be in GrassRoots just let us know by emailing games@grassrootsswimming.com
