Games - Wet T-Shirt Relay

Full stroke - Resistance

Divide into two teams. Half of each team goes to the opposite side of the pool (you can try 50m but these shirts will get very heavy). Both teams form two lines (relay fashion) on each side of the pool. On signal, the first player in line on each team is handed a soaking wet t-shirt (try identical X-large t-shirts). The player must put the shirt on completely before jumping into the pool and swimming. They then tag the next player on his/her team. After the first tag, teammates may help with removing and placing the t-shirt on all remaining swimmers.

HINT: With help the ‘receiving’ swimmer clasps the forearms of the swimmer with the t-shirt and together they bend forward so the tops of their heads touch (they have now built an archway). Other team members, one on each side, grasp the bottom of the shirt, pulling it up and over the extended, clasped, arms of the swimmers – pulling it down onto the ‘receiving’ swimmer. – this really promotes team work.
