Breaststroke Kick Challenge

Description

Set:

8 x 50 Breaststroke Kick with a kick board

Pace:

Challenging pace

Track:

Pace time and the slowest time of all the 50’s
Rules
Leaving on Time:
Swimmers must push off the wall exactly on their interval
Strokes:
Both arms must remain on the board at all times (except for turn)
Turns:
Swimmers must touch the wall with one hand but cannot take a pull with the board
Finish:
Swimmer must touch wall with both arms on the board
Timing:
Times should be recorded to the tenth of a second
Results
Pace Time and stroke count are added together for a total score
Example  
8 x 50 Kick on 1:10 = 70 seconds
Highest Stroke Count = 67.6strokes
Total = 137.6
Hints
The first time you have your group perform this set, it is recommended that all swimmers go on the same pace time. It does not have to be challenging to begin with. Over time, and as your swimmers become more familiar with the process, you can decrease the pace time for individual swimmers according to their ability.
